National Vietnam War Recognition Day Ceremony
The Hampden Township Veterans Recognition Committee is co-hosting a ceremony with VFW Posts 7530 and 6704 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of the war in Vietnam.
It was on March 29, 1973 when combat and combat support units withdrew from South Vietnam. Generations later veterans of this time period are gaining respect that was not freely given upon their return. Involving five U.S. presidents, crossing nearly two decades and 500,000 U.S. military personnel, it left an incredible mark on the American psyche.
On National Vietnam War Veterans Day, we recognize the service and duty rendered by all service men and women of this era.
